Biography
Anja Gerbes currently works as a community manager at the University of Göttingen, where she collaborates with academic and scientific communities. Alongside her professional role, she is pursuing a doctorate. Her research focuses on developing automated tools for performance engineering in the field of High-Performance Computing (HPC), bridging the disciplines of computer science, computational science, and AI-driven optimization.
Anja Gerbes' research focuses on the intersection of HPC, artificial intelligence, and automated software optimization. Her goal is to bridge the gap between manual performance engineering and AI-driven optimization. Her primary research interest lies in developing methods and tools to automatically improve HPC applications without human intervention.
Research Interests
- LLM-driven Code Transformation: Leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs) to automatically detect performance bottlenecks in HPC applications and apply intelligent code optimizations.
- Closed-loop Optimization: Implementing iterative AI feedback loops that continuously analyze, improve, and validate HPC software performance.
- Adaptive Optimization: Developing systems that dynamically adjust optimization strategies based on runtime behavior and performance metrics.
- Automated Performance Engineering: Bridging the gap between manual performance tuning and fully automated, AI-driven optimization processes.
- Intelligent HPC Tools: Creating advanced tools that autonomously enhance the efficiency and scalability of HPC applications without human intervention.
