Biography

Sascha is a Doctoral Candidate specializing in High-Performance Computing (HPC) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). Sascha's research employs Design-Based Research to develop “ClinicSim,” an IoT-enabled interactive simulation. This project uses physical artifacts and digital twins to model clinical workflows, exploring how AI and sensor integration can automate documentation and optimize training for medical personnel.

Requirements regarding digital sovereignty, data protection, and flexible infrastructure integration are becoming more important, especially in academic and public-sector environments. This project focuses on the implementation of an interoperable notebook and collaboration environment based on OpenNotebook operated through the SAIA infrastructure, including LLMs, Speech to Text and Text to Speech. The goal is to develop a flexible and reproducible architecture that supports sustainable and sovereign collaboration workflows while reducing operational complexity and vendor dependence in research and educational environments.

Organizations increasingly need to transition between groupware and collaboration platforms due to changing technical, organizational, or regulatory requirements. This project focuses on the conceptual design and prototypical implementation of a framework that supports the transfer of data and services between heterogeneous collaboration systems, such as Microsoft 365 and Nextcloud. A particular challenge addressed is the lack of standardized interfaces between platforms, which is often further intensified by Software‑as‑a‑Service solutions. The project examines transition strategies, automation approaches, and the integration of on‑premises backup services to ensure data integrity and recoverability during platform changes. The goal is to develop a flexible and reproducible approach that reduces manual effort and supports sustainable platform transitions.

**Reserved** Bot for OnboardingApply

Onboarding new employees can be a repetitive and time-consuming process. This thesis focuses on developing a Chat Messenger-based Bot (e.g. Matrix, Teams) that automates these initial steps. The Bot proactively contacts new hires, creates personalized to-do lists, helps organize their schedules, generates pre-written introduction articles and automatically generates documentation pages. By handling these administrative tasks, the system aims to reduce the manual workload for HR and Onboarding and ensure a smooth, organized start for new team members.
